CLP East Africa Team Ready for Departure

East Africa Team Photo

On January 9th the five-member CLP East Africa team will arrive in Addis Ababa to begin a 4-month reporting project focusing on water scarcity in Ethiopia and Kenya. Thanks to funding from the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting, the Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University, and our wonderful individual and small business supporters, we will be bringing you in-depth multimedia coverage of this crucial issue. Visit our East Africa project page to meet our team and follow us throughout the trip. Get started by reading Ernest Waititu and Julia Marino's first pre-departure blogs.

New Contributor Blogs from Kenya and Jordan

To kick off the CLP blog for 2008, new CLP contributors Kesse-Sky Buchanan and Miriam Clithero have contributed their stories from Kenya and Jordan. Kesse's story brings us to a pro-Raila Odinga rally in Meru, Kenya in the months leading up to Kenya's now hotly contested presidential election. And in Amman, Miriam offers a painful insight into the way scenes of the Iraq War are being transmitted through "Third Country Nationals" - young men from throughout the Muslim world working for American contractors and soldiers in Iraq.
