Tell the FCC What You Think About Big Media : The FCC working to relax media ownership rules yet again. 90% of all media available in the US is owned by just 6 corporations. Apparently that's not enough: the FCC is considering relaxing restrictions on media conglomeration even further. If more media consolidation in an already homogenized media environment sounds like a bad idea to you come out this Friday for the final public hearing on this issue. The FCC commissioners will be here themselves to listen to your testimony at Town Hall between 4pm and 11pm. Arrive early to ensure your chance to testify! (Oh, and sorry for the short notice. The FCC only announced this public hearing a few days ago because they were sure you'd already have plans for your Friday night. So, skip out of work early and bring your date to town hall to prove them wrong. This is Seattle's chance to be heard)! |
